Early this summer, over 30 members of NOAA Fisheries Southeast team welcomed Commerce Secretary Don Evans at the Tampa World Trade Center in Florida. The Secretary explained he was on a trade education tour and shared his vision for how expanding international commerce fosters prosperity, growth, stability and freedom. Secretary Evans warmly thanked NOAA employees for greeting him and indicated he hears regularly from legislators about NOAA activities. "Hardly a day goes by that I don't hear from a senator who wants to talk about fish," the Secretary said.
