NOAA Fisheries Hosts Panamanian Maritime Official

Captain Antonio Adames-Arrocha, deputy director of Panama's National Maritime Service, was a recent guest at the Silver Spring, Maryland headquarters of NOAA Fisheries Office of Law Enforcement. Briefed on operations by Deputy Chief Mark Spurrier, he learned about the satellite-based tracking system that monitors compliance with fishery area restrictions and indicated particular interest in the COPPS -- Community-Oriented Policing and Problem-Solving -- program along with several other education and community outreach efforts.
