Captain Antonio
Adames-Arrocha, deputy director of Panama's National Maritime Service, was
a recent guest at the Silver Spring, Maryland headquarters of NOAA Fisheries
Office of Law Enforcement. Briefed on operations by Deputy Chief Mark Spurrier,
he learned about the satellite-based tracking system that monitors compliance
with fishery area restrictions and indicated particular interest in the
COPPS -- Community-Oriented Policing and Problem-Solving -- program along
with several other education and community outreach efforts.
