NOAA
Honors Employees at Awards Ceremony
|
| More
than 100 NOAA employees from across the country were honored
for individual and group achievements last month at the NOAA
Awards ceremony, held in Silver Spring. Recipients were cited
for excellence in such diverse areas as NOAA’s Matrix
Air Quality Program, the NOS Discovery Center, and the Break
the Grip of the Rip current outreach program. Among the honors
were the NOAA Diversity Spectrum Award, given to employees
and managers for their contributions and activities which
promote NOAA's goals in managing diversity, and the NOAA Technology
Transfer Award, which recognizes scientific and engineering
achievements which have direct applications to the private
sector, and focuses on the tangible benefits NOAA scientists
and engineers bring to the market place. The ceremony was
hosted by NOAA Workforce Management director Eddie
Ribas.
