Who's on Jeopardy this week?
Tune into ABC, 7:30 pm, on Wednesday, July 10 & Thursday,
July 11.

About one year ago, Emilie Bruchon, who works on European space issues,
was one of about 20,000 people who take a shot each year at becoming contestants
on Jeopardy. Thirty million people -- the highest quiz show viewership
on tv -- watch each week as contestants pick their brains for all kinds
of (hopefully) stored away knowledge on just about every conceivable topic.
A lottery determines those invited to tryout. Emilie was called several
months later to first, take a 50-question written test, then to audition
at a mock show taping in which she had seconds to respond as questions were
being flashed.
In March, ABC invited Emilie to Los Angeles for an actual taping. We can't
reveal more except to report that Emilie left LA with "a little bit of money
and a whole lot of fun. I'm a small-time champion," she said.
Emilie regrets not being able to plug NOAA on the show. "No hats or t-shirts
allowed." A Presidential Management Intern who has been at NESDIS, NOAA's
National, Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service for 10
months, Emilie received a Master's degree last year in international affairs.
At NESDIS, she supports international and interagency coordination of environmental
satellite programs, working in partnership with NASA, the Department of
Defense, counterpart agencies in Europe and international earth-observing
organizations. |
