Scott Gudes, Acting NOAA Administrator, and Bill Hogarth, NOAA Fisheries' Acting Administrator, joined 13 other NOAA volunteers and nearly 400 school kids during the annual Take-A-Kid-Fishing Day in Washington, DC. The event is a highlight of National Fishing and Boating Week.

Many of the kids had never fished before, and as they sought out bass, blue gill and catfish, they simultaneously learned the value of enjoying our environment without abusing it. The day was a hit for everyone -- and for recreational fishing.

Thanks to: NOAA Fisheries' Kate Naughten, Ginny Fay, Lenice Goines, Gene Cope, Stephie Bost, Jim Mccallum, Bill Chappell, Jennifer Olson, John Hotaling, Paula Evans, and Bill Price and Connie Barclay; NOS' s Mike Murphy; and NOAA's Corps' Liz Jones.
